This is a program dedicated to cancer patients and survivors. Whether you have been newly diagnosed, currently in treatment or a survivor, you life has been changed forever when you were diagnosed with cancer. My objectives for this program is to get you moving and feeling better- both physically, mentally and emotionally. Improve your strength and immune system. The after effects of the surgeries, treatments and medications can wreak havoc. With proper fitness, yoga, movement, breathwork and Qi Gong classes, stress and tension will decrease to allow your body and mind to begin the healing process. Healing doesn't involve only the body. The Mind-Body Connection is an important relationship to healing your entire self. Each week a series of short class videos will be sent to you, to practice. These will include different types of Yoga, including the Phoenix Rising Yoga, Oncology Yoga, Gentle Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Breathwork and easy meditation will be practiced to calm the mind and body. Qi Gong practices include Phoenix Rising and the Lotus Flower. Several different types of lymphatic drainage methods and exercises will be taught. Strength/ fitness exercises to increase strength; improve flexibility, mobility and balance. These practices may result in reducing side effects such as insomnia, nausea, anxiety, depression, weight gain, constipation, lymphedema. We will also meet 30 mins privately per week to go over your progress and answer questions.
