Was one of your New Year’s Resolutions to start working out (more)?

Are you looking to add more movement into your life?

I’ve created a Private Yoga Fusion Class Series for the Encore residents.

The classes will incorporate a fusion of Yoga, Strength Fitness, dash of Barre and sprinkle of Tai Chi-Qi Gong:

This will help:

  • Strength: Build  bone and muscular strength.

  • Flexibility and mobility: Improve flexibility and mobility to reduce the risk of injuries and falls.

  • Improve your coordination, stamina and endurance:  There will be multiple movements happening at once.

  • Increase circulation in your joints: Work within your own Range of Motion.

  • Stress management: Manage stress and foster emotional stability.

  • Focus: Sharpen your focus and concentration.

What to expect from the classes:

  • A gentle warm-up with Tai Chi-Qi Gong.

  • Much slower controlled movements.

  • Focus on core strength and alignment.

  • Standing balance poses.

  • Strengthening and stretching- working with hand weights and bands.

  • Breathwork practices to synchronize the breath with movement.

  • A few minutes of relaxation at the end of the class.

What level of workout will this be?   You will get a good work out.  Most of the class will work at a moderate level. You are always welcome to work at your own level. For example, not using hand weights or bands. Fewer repetitions.  It’s important to not push yourself into pain.

IF you’re looking for one class to help you strengthen, stretch, balance and tone … this is it!

WHO can benefit from this class?

Those who NEED TO MOVE!

This can also help improve your Pickle Ball, Tennis and Golf games! Walking, biking, hiking…. This will help you to continue to stay active and healthy.  Even if you workout regularly, I promise you will discover muscles you may not have used in awhile!

Each student will use a chair to assist with some of the balance and barre poses. The majority of the poses and exercises will be standing.  This will help to build bone and muscular strength. Also improves balance and coordination. Students must be able to stand for periods of time and easily move from standing to the floor and back up again.

IF you are:  Currently under the care of a doctor,  please have their medical clearance approved before registering.  You will be using all of your joints in the classes. If you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and any other ‘inflammation’ diagnosis, please check with your doctor first.  Some of the poses on the floor will require being on your hands and knees.  Feel free to ask Ann if you have any questions about registering.
